# Tags And Topics

Topics and tags are both useful, but they solve different problems.

## Topics vs tags

* **Topics**: primary grouping for prompt organization.
* **Tags**: flexible labels for slicing data across multiple dimensions.

## Recommended structure

Use topics for your main strategic clusters:

* `brand-comparison`
* `category-education`
* `solution-evaluation`

Use tags for cross-cutting filters:

* funnel stage (`awareness`, `consideration`, `decision`)
* audience (`cmo`, `growth`, `seo`)
* initiative (`launch-q2`, `geo`, `enterprise`)

## Setup process

1. Define 3 to 6 topics first.
2. Add a small controlled tag vocabulary.
3. Apply tags consistently across active prompts.
4. Review unused tags monthly.

## Hygiene rules

* Keep names short and unambiguous.
* Avoid overlapping tags that mean the same thing.
* Archive tags not used in current reporting cycles.
